KAISER MEDICAL PLAN OPTION: HDHP WITH HRA
This is a High Deductible Health Plan that is paired with a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). The HDHP with HRA is designed to be simple - You will be responsible for paying the Kaiser-negotiated prices for services and prescription drugs until you meet the deductible. Once you meet the appropriate medical/prescription drug deductible, coverage is shared in a co-insurance/copay arrangement until the out-of-pocket maximum is met, and prescription drug copays apply until the out-of-pocket maximum is met.
Preventive care services are covered at 100% regardless of whether you have met the deductible.
To assist employees with their out-of-pocket medical expenses, The Chefs' Warehouse will contribute to the HRA. The Chefs' Warehouse will fund 50% of the deductible, contributing $2,750 for employee-only coverage and $5,500 for all other coverage tiers into the HRA. Employer HRA contributions will be prorated based on your date of hire.
If you choose to enroll in the Kaiser medical plan option, use the link below to Register for a Kaiser account. You will need your Medical Record Number (MRN) found on your Kaiser ID card.
Preventive Care
3
Kaiser offers preventive services available at no cost to employees. Preventive care helps identify health problems when they are most treatable and before they become serious. Your doctor is able to provide proactive care and treatment when medical problems and illnesses are detected early through routine visits. The goal of preventive care is to help keep you as healthy as possible along with being mindful of your own health. These covered services may consist of flu shots, immunizations, annual physicals, certain tests, and screenings.
Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)
The HRA helps pay for a portion of your out-of-pocket medical costs
A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is an employer-funded benefit that you can use for eligible expenses related to your medical deductible. Chefs' will fund $2,750 (employee-only) and $5,500 (all other coverage tiers).
It's important to note, the HRA funds will not be accessed through a card. These funds will automatically be deducted from your account as you utilize your Kaiser health plan.
These funds are available at the beginning of the plan year and they are employer-owned. Unspent funds will not roll over into the next plan year.

Please note, if you were previously enrolled in an HSA Plan and choose to enroll in the Kaiser HRA plan for 10/1/2024, you may not continue to make or receive new HSA contributions. However, you may continue to use existing HSA funds to pay for eligible medical expenses of yourself, your spouse, or your tax dependents that are not reimbursed by the Kaiser/HRA plan.
