As a reminder, all employees participating in the medical plan will be asked to attest their tobacco status.
TOBACCO VS. NON-TOBACCO CONTRIBUTION REMINDER
If you are enrolled in one of Allied Beverage Group's medical plans, please remember there are different premium (employee contribution) options for tobacco and non-tobacco users. Associates are required to certify or attest tobacco status via ABG Connect. A tobacco user is an associate that uses nicotine products including, but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, snuff, chewing tobacco, pipes, and electronic cigarettes, electronic vaping devices, etc., regardless of method or frequency within 30 days. Falsifying your tobacco use status constitutes fraud against the health plan and may result in disciplinary action including termination of employment.
If you do not smoke or use tobacco and/or nicotine products, you will pay $75 less for your monthly medical plan contribution. If you do use tobacco and/or nicotine products and complete a tobacco cessation program by September 30, 2025 you can receive a retro-discounted price.
Please click the button below to view ABG's HIPAA Notice regarding the above Tobacco Discount Program.
NEED HELP FINDING A PARTICIPATING PROVIDER WITH MERITAIN?
It is always best to receive care In-Network when possible. Providers in the Aetna Choice Point of Service (POS) II network negotiated with Meritain to set rates for health care services. These rates are generally more favorable than what would be found Out-of-Network, so Meritain also provides a greater level of coverage for In-Network care. Please note that despite a slightly different naming convention, this is the same network Allied Beverage members had access to last year.
Please confirm that your providers are participating in the Aetna Choice Point of Service (POS) II network using this link and enter your zip code. Select or type in Aetna Choice POS II (Open Access) under 'Select a Plan'. The button below also offers a step-by-step guide on finding a participating Meritain provider.
