WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Both full-time and part-time benefit-eligible employees are eligible for our benefit programs. Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment or the first of the month following your employment status changing to benefit eligible.
NEW HIRE ELIGIBILITY
As a new hire, you become eligible for benefits on the first day of the month after 30 days of continuous employment. You have up to 30 days to make your benefit elections. Elections are made online via the Benefits section of Paycom’s Employee Self-Service. Click HERE for Paycom Instructions.
DEPENDENT COVERAGE
Your dependents are eligible for coverage in most plans you elect; the benefits counselor will discuss the benefits available for your dependents during your meeting. Your eligible dependents include your legal spouse, domestic partner with whom you share a residence (both same and opposite sex), children, and children for whom you are a legal guardian up to the age of 26 unless otherwise stated.
Important Note: If your spouse/domestic partner has medical coverage available to them through their employer, they must elect that coverage. If they do not, an additional surcharge will be added to your medical premiums. During your individual meeting with the benefits counselor, you will be required to fill out a working spouse attestation form.
EMPLOYEES EXPERIENCING A QUALIFIED CHANGE OF STATUS
Unless you experience a life-changing qualifying event, you cannot make changes to your benefits until the next open enrollment period. Open Enrollment typically occurs for a two week period around June/July to be effective August 1st.
Qualifying events include:
- Marriage or Divorce
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Change in child’s dependent status
- Death of a spouse, child or other qualified dependent
- Change in employment status or a change in coverage under another employer-sponsored plan
- Entitlement to Medicare or Medicaid
You must submit your new/changed enrollments via Paycom within 30 days from the date of the qualifying life event. Supporting documentation (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.) should be submitted to HR as soon as available, but no later than 90 days after the date of the life event. Failure to provide acceptable supporting documentation within that timeframe may impact your new benefit coverage.
